Terms of Use
These Terms are between the user and 广州登月科技有限公司 (“we,” “us,” or “our”) for use of the Mocavoca app and official website. By downloading, installing, or using the app, the user agrees to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
1. Service
Mocavoca provides wordbook selection, word learning and review, progress records, reminders, a Home Screen widget, and furniture and cat collection in the café. Available features depend on the version installed on the user’s device.
2. Conditions of use
Users must use the app lawfully and must not use it to infringe rights, interfere with services, defeat software security, access systems without authorization, or otherwise violate applicable law.
Minors should read and accept these Terms with guidance from a guardian.
3. Accounts and local data
Local learning features can be used without signing in. Users may register or sign in with an email verification code, Apple, or Google to sync learning records, coins, furniture, display name, friendships, and leaderboard data to the server.
Users can delete local learning data in Settings → About & Legal → Clear Local Data, or delete the account and its server data in Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deleting the account does not delete on-device data or automatically cancel an Apple subscription.
4. In-app coins and virtual content
In-app coins record learning progress and unlock or arrange in-app content. They are not legal currency, have no cash value, cannot be redeemed, transferred, or traded outside the app, and cannot be purchased with cash.
5. Subscriptions
The app may offer an optional Apple auto-renewable subscription, such as the Mocavoca Monthly Subscription, with access to all wordbooks and learning features and an optional free trial. Charges are applied to the user’s Apple ID, and renewal continues until canceled in Apple Account subscription settings. Apple handles billing, refunds, and subscription management. In-app learning coins are not Apple payments.
6. Intellectual property
Rights in the app’s software, interface, brand, graphics, animation, and original content belong to us or the lawful rights holder. Third-party content identified by source or license is used under the applicable terms.
Without written permission, users may not copy, sell, rent, reverse engineer, bulk-extract, or otherwise use the app beyond ordinary personal use, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
7. Updates, interruption, and termination
We may release updates to fix errors, address security, maintain system compatibility, or adjust features. Device systems, app marketplace review, network failures, or force majeure may temporarily affect downloads, updates, or features.
If a user materially violates these Terms or applicable law, we may restrict relevant services to the extent permitted by law.
8. Third-party platforms
Users who obtain the app through Apple App Store, Google Play, or another marketplace must also follow that platform’s terms. The marketplace manages its accounts, downloads, payments, and refunds; learning coins shown in the app are not a platform payment.
9. Scope of responsibility
The app is a learning aid and does not guarantee a specific exam score, language outcome, or rate of progress. We maintain the app within reasonable bounds but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation on every device, system version, or network.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, responsibility is determined by actual loss, degree of fault, and legal requirements. This clause does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
10. Updates to these Terms
We may update these Terms and the effective date when services or applicable rules change. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. The parties should first try to resolve disputes through good-faith discussion; if no resolution is reached, either party may bring a claim before a court with jurisdiction.
