What this selection contains
This Mocavoca vocabulary preview contains 50 selected beginner Japanese entries. It is a small study selection, not a complete or official JLPT N5 vocabulary syllabus.

猫（ねこ）
cat
猫がとてもかわいいです。
The cat is very cute.
犬（いぬ）
dog
犬と猫がいます。
There are a dog and a cat.
魚（さかな）
fish
猫は魚が大好きです。
Cats love fish.
Check reading and meaning separately
- Read the Japanese word before looking at its kana.
- Say its meaning without the English answer.
- Read the whole sentence and explain who or what it describes.
Review the part you missed. Recognising a word does not by itself test grammar, reading comprehension, or listening.
